You might be surprised to know that in the past, I’ve felt shy and a little unclear about my personal style. For years, I worked in the legal field—and while I love a pop of color, many times I felt like I needed to match the manilla files I had strewn everywhere in my old office.
Through trial, error, and LOADS of research, I learned how to wear the fabulous clothes that I love, while still looking appropriate for the office. For example, I came to embrace the power of a beautiful high heel shoe. Putting on a tall, strong, gorgeous shoe made me feel the same way: strong, tall and beautiful. And feeling stronger and taller (and more confident) than my frustrating co-workers gave me an edge! That very feeling is what I strive for my clients; I want them to feel empowered, stand taller and feel gorgeous; loving what they wear.
Often it is suggested to me to show more of myself to my website or social media and to be honest, I have tried, but here’s the thing, it’s just not me. I don’t enjoy being in front of the camera and quite frankly, being the center of attention. Just ask any of my friends who grumble every time I “untag” myself on FB.
Having the ability to share the experience of discovering the perfect jeans or embracing life with pops of color is where I want to be. I am truly here to make you feel and look your best.
A few weeks ago I was asked by a Huffington Post writer for an example of a woman expressing her unique style; I didn’t have to think twice. At no point was it a famous style icon, lifestyle or fashion blogger; for me, it was a no-brainer, it was a client.
I love watching, Jill Houk embrace her slightly edgy, colorful style over the years, and even more so loved seeing it in print! Big thanks to photographer, Angie Garbot as well as hairstylist & makeup artist, Lynzie Wellin. It’s always great to collaborate with other women who value lifting each other up and embrace the same ideology for their clients! Take a peek at the HuffPost feature here.
