Bottoms Up! Fall Skirts

by CWstyle

I don’t know about you, but I am loving this weather! The temps are perfect for layering pieces; a stylist’s dream!

In my second part of the Bottoms Up fall style series, we’re taking a look at skirts. I realize it’s getting cooler out but that doesn’t mean skirts are out of the picture. All of the style-picks below are longer lengths and most in heavier fabrics than we’ve seen in months past.

Pencil Skirts

The pencil skirt is a timeless silhouette. This season try incorporating a pattern, bright color, and texture for a fun go-to option that can be dressed up or down.

Pleated

One of my favorite shapes, pleated skirts, can be incredibly versatile. Pair with a gorgeous blouse and pumps, for an elegant dinner-date. Throw a leather jacket, blazer or even a dressy sweatshirt for a fun, chic way to make it more of a daytime look.

Velvet

What can I say, velvet is everywhere and no longer solely reserved for the holidays. As you can see, it’s just as easily dressed down and feels cozy when paired with a cashmere tee and fun scarf. Choose one in a rich, vibrant color that can be worn now and straight into the festive season.

Prints

Plaid, check, patterns anything goes! Have fun and make it your own, but do keep the silhouettes classic, like the shapes I’ve mentioned above. Another favorite shape is the circle skirt, which can be very forgiving and again another versatile closet staple. When paired with tall elegant, leather boots and a sweater it becomes an ideal outfit as temps become chillier.
