It’s officially December and the holidays are in full swing. I adore all the lights, sparkly things and let’s be honest, almost anything with glitter! Calendars, of course, are filling up with annual events and lost of impromptu gatherings that really make the season of merriment live up to its name.
Most of you know me pretty well by now. So it is no surprise how much I enjoy dressing up. You may have also picked up on the fact that comfort is my number one priority. After all, one cannot consume a plate of bacon wrapped anything, wine, and all the cookies without room to “expand.”

Dazzling Dresses
Not all dresses are created equal and just because the invite says festive or cocktail attire doesn’t mean you have to be uncomfortable. Look for wraps, pleats, and jumpsuits which make for comfy, easy, all-in-one outfit that is still very much dressed up for the holidays.
Taking the “Dress” out of “Dressy”
Holiday dressing doesn’t have to be about dresses. There are so many comfy statement pieces that will have you looking a million bucks. One of my favorite looks is the elevated jogger. The one here is extra special with sequined velvet fabric making it oh so purrfect for fancy parties or dinner out with your friends. Pair these statement-making pieces with simple silhouettes and fabrics.
Just Add Color & Bling
Everyone should have a casual, neutral, no fuss dress in the closet that can be dressed up or down and worn in a multitude of ways, (The one above can be worn as a cowl neck dress or shimmied over the shoulders for an evening out). By adding leather or denim jackets, brightly color accessories such as statement necklaces, earrings, and scarves, they become equally appropriate for Sunday Brunch, Cookie Swaps or weekend getaways.
Statement earrings are also a must as they take a basic dress to cocktails with friends as well as dress up the simplest of closet staples. Look for tassels, beads and shimmering metals that brighten the face and create a festive vibe instantly.
When you’re feeling a little grinchy, you get a holiday pass to grab your favorite jeans, top and add a festive touch with shoes that let everyone know you’re ready to dance the night away!
