Thanksgiving Packing Made Easy for You and Him!

by CWstyle

The holiday season is pretty much in full swing with Thanksgiving in just a few days. So let the shopping, cooking and traveling season begin!

For me, Thanksgiving is the least hectic of them all. There’s time to cook with family, plan holiday outings..hello ZooLights and most importantly EAT!

I try to make the weekend as easy as possible knowing that I’ll have to do a bit of shopping for clients with the holiday sales kicking off. When I travel for the holidays, I always pack light and make sure Jeff coordinates without being fussy or too catchy, matchy. Few things are worse than being that too coordinated couple 🙂  I think about a single color palette that compliments us both and still offers a bit of cheeriness on what can often be a grey season with not much sun.

One of the most versatile, fall layering pieces is the quilted vest. Worn over sweaters, tees, dresses, and shirts while the weather is still mild and then layer under winter coats later when the chill hits.

I was pretty smitten when I stumbled upon this Liberty® print version on a recent shopping trip. The classic print is instantly mood-lifting, incredibly versatile and the perfect piece to mix with other prints and solids. So needless to say, it’s a fashion no-brainer for weekend getaways and the holiday shopping season!

Along with a denim button down and striped tee, I now have two ways to pair my festive little vest for stylish outfits this weekend.  Take a peek….

Another great find this fall, was this denim shirt which is a bit more polished than most denim shirts thanks to the addition of gold buttons and the slight sheen to the fabric.

The striped tee is a wardrobe-must in any closet and quite often becomes the perfect print to mix with a much busier pattern like the floral one on the vest.

As for Jeff, go-to chinos and jeans are easy packing for quick getaways. Adding a casual bomber jacket and a few different tops make for many options. Each piece below works on its own and can be mixed, matched and layered for several different looks.  I play off the blues and pops of colors in the floral pattern in my vest, to avoid color-clashing in any impromptu photos that can easily dupe as holiday card later.
